We all know that we need to recycle, but how do we recycle right? Many of us learned about recycling long ago, and have not thought much about what we are tossing in our recycling bins. We assume if it’s paper, plastic, or metal, it will get recycled. However, there is much more to it than that. Learn about exactly what should be going into our curbside bins, what should NOT, and why this matters. Also, learn about NJ’s upcoming Single-Use Bag Ban and what changes to expect on May 4th.

Heather Miara is an Environmental Specialist 1 for Union County’s Bureau of Recycling & Planning. Heather has a Master’s Degree in Environmental Science & Policy through Johns Hopkins University, is a former AmeriCorps NJ Watershed Ambassador, and is passionate about creating local solutions to environmental issues we face here in New Jersey.

This program is hosted by the Libraries of Union County Consortium.
